Find Your Next Read at These Used Bookstores in the Dallas Area

a bookstore

On a colder Texas afternoon, there’s nothing quite like snuggling up with a good book in your apartment. If you’re looking to find your next great read, one of the best resources is a used bookstore. Get ready to hit the trail of your next favorite book as you mosey on over to one of these local gems in and around Dallas!

Lucky Dog Books

These neighborhood bookstores feature good recycled books, movies, music, and more. Lucky Dog Books have had quite a history, beginning in 1973. You can read more about that here, if you’re interested. The Casa Linda location features a fun event every Thursday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm called Drink & Draw Weekly Sketch. Bring a sketchbook and something to draw with and you’re all set for an evening of sketching and socializing!

Rosedale Rare Books

Featuring an inventory of books spanning seven centuries, this antiquarian bookstore is a rare find itself. Come for the experience and the lovely smell, and leave with a terrific find.

Half Price Books

The Flagship Half Price Books is where this popular chain of bookstores began! Enjoy the huge inventory, the unique displays, the occasional author event, the Community Room, and the cafe.

The Tattered Jacket Bookstore

Book lovers unite at this lovely store of used, rare, and out-of-print books! They are only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so choose one of those days (or both) and get searching for your next book!

Earth Books

It’s worth the drive to Ferris to enjoy the book-loving atmosphere of Earth Books. Don’t just stay on planet Earth; explore new worlds through a book that takes you away. They have a large variety from non-fiction to children’s literature. Pick out one you think you’ll like and take it to one of their comfy reading rooms.

Dallas is a great place to read and to shop. We hope you enjoy your time in these great stores. We also think it’s a great place to live. Want to know more about One Dallas Center? Contact us to schedule a tour.
