Eater’s Award-Winning Bars and Restaurants in Dallas

A fine dining table.

Over the last few months, the editors of Eater have visited countless bars and restaurants around Dallas. Their mission was to find those that stood out above the rest in design, service, and creativity.

They recently named their 2019 award winners. Those near our Dallas high-rise apartments include:

4 Kahuna’s Tiki Bar

Named “Bar of the Year,” 4 Kahuna’s brings the beach to the Metroplex. With tricks like setting drinks on fire, the bar adds life among a strip of used car dealerships. The festive setting draws a crowd and comes complete with wooden masks, seashells, and ukuleles. Four tiki carvings represent the owners, and the surf rock music has visitors singing aloud. Many of the seriously strong cocktails aren’t served anywhere else in town with choices including Zombie, Canadian Castaway, and Chief Lapu Lapu.

Georgie

With marble floors, plush booths, and a dramatic vaulted ceiling, it’s no wonder that Georgie took home top honors for “Best Design.” It just opened in mid-November and is already gaining critical acclaim. The restaurant is the first Texas venture for celebrity chef Curtis Stone. He named it after his niece and is known for serving premium Australian beef and luxe seafood dishes. The salmon is a customer favorite and is best enjoyed with the roasted endives and creative cocktails.

Homewood

Step into the “Restaurant of the Year” to enjoy a warm setting and genuine food. Chef Matt McCallister makes simple dishes seem truly riveting. He partners with local farmers and ranchers to celebrate the flavors of the southwest. His menu keeps getting better, and the Parker House rolls are a Dallas favorite. They’re the perfect start to an entree such as Heritage Pork presse, Mt. Lassen trout, and A-Bar-N Ranch wagyu ribeye.

Along with these award-winning restaurants, our downtown Dallas luxury apartments are also near top shopping destinations and world-class spas. To become a resident of our community, please contact us. We would love for you to see all we have to offer.
