Offering some good old-fashioned fun, roller skating is a great way to stay active while spending time with friends. When you’re ready to skate, DFW is home to several rinks where you can enjoy time on wheels. Here are three roller skating rinks near our downtown Dallas luxury apartments that you don’t want to miss.
Aloha Roller Palace
Growing up, Deanna met her husband at a roller skating rink. After he served in the military, they settled here in Texas, where they opened the Aloha Roller Palace. Today, the rink is a local favorite. On Wednesdays between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., both admission and skate rental are $1 each. You can also spend time enjoying one-dollar specials at the snack bar. Along with the open skate sessions, Aloha also offers skating lessons. They’re lead by a two-time world champion, and you can enjoy a single class or enroll in the three-month program.
A city-owned facility, Southern Skates became a Dallas fixture more than ten years ago. You’ll find Thursdays bring adult-only sessions. The fun takes place from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., and anyone 18 and over can lace up a pair of skates. When it’s time for a break, enjoy a tasty treat from the snack bar. Offerings include pretzels, nachos, and funnel cakes.
Forum Roller World
Founded in 1976, Forum Roller World has a long history of offering friendly service and lively skating sessions. It features a solid maple wood floor, updated sound and light systems, and a snack bar. You can enjoy adult skate sessions on Thursdays from 9:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., and on Sundays from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The cost is $6, and skaters 21 and over can show off their skills.
For another way to get moving instead of roller skating rinks, enjoy dance classes at a nearby Dallas studio. You can try salsa, jazz, ballet, and more.
