The Best Brunch Spots in Dallas

Breakfast and brunch food on plates on a table.

Did you know the first documented brunch took place in late nineteenth-century Britain? Affluent men gathered for a late, leisurely meal after a morning of hunting. Brunch came to America a few years later, and today, chefs around the country keep this time-honored tradition alive.

The best brunch spots near our Dallas high-rise apartments include:

Al Biernat’s

Al Biernat’s is a longtime upscale eatery known for bringing the finest of the land and sea to your plate. The owner stops by the tables while the friendly bartenders know everyone by name. Al’s is a favorite among the city’s professional athletes and visiting celebrities alike. It features chandeliers, colorful works of art, and tables covered with white tablecloths. In the kitchen, chefs prepare meals from the finest, freshest ingredients. Brunch offerings include Italian sausage scrambles, chicken & waffles, and crab & corn chowder.

Rapscallion

Step into Rapscallion to find a modern twist on old-time southern cooking. Co-owner and chef, Nathan Tate, grew up on a multi-generational family farm in Rockwall, Texas. He combines the flavors of his childhood with those from around the world. The restaurant offers a casual, rustic setting. It comes complete with exposed brick, wood accents, and picture windows offering street views. On the brunch menu, visitors find an array of favorites, including Belgian waffles, spicy chicken biscuits, and smoked pork Benedict.

Tillman’s

At Tillman’s, tradition meets contemporary. It opened in 1992 and boasts an urban vibe with an eclectic artistic impression. Executive Chef Jeffrey Kollinger prepares regionally inspired southern fare. He makes everything from scratch and embraces local producers. Brunch offerings include cast-iron huevos rancheros, chicken fried steak & eggs, and grilled barbecue spiced salmon.
